We may want our sons to grow up to be more caring and our daughters to have equal chances in life but as young children they often seem very fixed in their male and female roles. Princesses and Warriors asks you 24 questions about your child’s activities, characteristics and play and then indicates how “masculine” or “feminine” their behaviour is compared with other 2-6 year old children.

You may find that your child is a typical boy or girl. Or you may discover that your daughter or son is more like children of the opposite sex. Princesses and Warriors does not assume there is anything “wrong” with very feminine boys or masculine girls. All children show characteristics of both sexes in their interests and behaviour. However, some parents worry if their child always prefers the activities and company of the opposite sex. This questionnaire gives your son or daughter’s score and a brief report to help you understand better where your child’s interests lie.
